I love this country

this is my first writing.

I just want to convince more (to myself, actually) that I really, really love this country. I may not be very proud of being Indonesian, because of the characteristic that we have, but...I really, strongly, love this country.

Why do I have to say that? how does it effects me?
Off course it has effects on me. After having the experience of so-called reformation, I think I had forgotten how to love this country. I used to jeer at the former government and without giving solution, I put aside my enthusiasm of this country.
I in fact, have ever planned to stay at some other country which I think better than Indonesia. what a fool.

Until I had a time to travel some of this country beauty.

First, because of my work, I had to go to Tual, South East of Maluku. It's located underneath west papua island. All of my life, I never heard about this place, and suddenly, I have to go there.
So I did took a 6 hours of flight, and when I got there, I found a humble small city, clean and ready to be explored.

Tual itself actually a harbor town, but the size of its harbor was amazingly small. The people there is close to Papua than Ambonese. and they're friendly. One thing that I captured is they're very in touch with politic development. (=melek politik :P)

Anyway, going to Tual is not complete without visit the Pantai Pasir Panjang. Although it's the most famous beach in the region, but it's still virgin. What made me spellbound was the sand. It was the whitest, smoothest sand I've ever seen!

I had a chance to swim there, the water was amazingly clean & clear. the wave was friendly, and some of my friends just floating on the water. it's beautiful. the coconut tree, the sky, and the length of the beach were wonderful, so peaceful..

when I got to the quay wall, I looked up to the bottom of the wall, and almost histerical to see so many colorful fish in the water...because of the clearwater, I can see them swimming gorgeously . It was a very rare scenery from where I came from.

I have ever heard some people said about the beauty of eastern Indonesia beaches, and I couldn't be more agree with them.

Yesterday I had a chat with my husband about loyalty, in terms of marriage. I asked him, why do some people think marriage is about loyalty ? I think loyalty has nothing to do with marriage. Marriage is merely about responsibility. Once you promise to God and in front of your parents and witnesses, you should take your part of responsibility.  God knows human needs other humans to share the burden. Marriage is supposed to function like that. However, for the role that based on gender like conceiving a baby, it's surely on woman. But other than that, it all for shared.  parenting --> both delivering meals --> both  laundry --> both  cleaning house --> both  earn living --> either one of both  Any couple can discuss what kind of arrangements to make their marriage works comfortably. The Year is 1994

 Apa saja yang terjadi pada tahun 1994? Wow...exactly 30 years a go.  Saat itu aku berada di tahun terakhir SMA, usia menjelang 18 tahun. Aku punya gank yang terdiri dari 5 cewek (termasuk aku) dan banyak cowok (jumlah cowoknya nggak jelas, personil tetap mungkin hanya 5 orang saja). Tapi yang jelas kehidupanku berputar bersama keempat temanku ini. Kami semua anak IPS, meski kami nggak bodoh dan nilai-nilai kami bagus, tapi kami juga bukan termasuk bintang kelas. Kebetulan SMA kami adalah yang terbaik di wilayah kota kami, kalau dulu istilahnya SMA favorit. Masuknya disaring dari nilai ebtanas murni (NEM) SMP. Jadi konon yang masuk SMA itu anaknya pintar-pintar. Tapi zaman itu sepertinya anak-anak belajarnya tetap santai, tidak terlalu kompetitif, dan masih banyak mainnya daripada belajarnya. Is Marriage Scary?

Saya tergelitik untuk menulis tentang ini, gara-gara topik Si Paling Komen di acara Kis in The Morning Jumat lalu.  Jadi host acara tersebut, abah Udjo & uni Ivy Batuta ambil topik ini karena ramai di sebuah platform sosmed, ada seseorang yang bertanya tentang penyesalan terbesar dalam hidup. Kebanyakan menjawab: penyesalan terbesarnya adalah menikah. Kalau cuma satu atau dua orang aja yang menjawab demikian mungkin nggak masalah ya. Tapi ini banyak...sampai-sampai kedua host Kis tersebut penasaran dan melemparkan topik is Marriage Scary? ..dan tahu nggak jawaban pendengar Kis (yang kebanyakan ibu-ibu)? Yep, they mostly answered yes. Banyaknya jawaban yes ini membuat kedua host jadi agak khawatir nantinya orang-orang malah beneran takut menikah, dan akhirnya mengubah topik menjadi: Apa kesulitan terbesar dalam perkawinanmu (yang sudah kamu lewati)?
