Reality Relativity
What is valuable to us, may be
nothing to someone else. What is correct for us, may not be correct for others.
That's why we tend to look for similarities with other people, just to find
justification for our views, that we, no matter how strong we think we are,
still need legitimacy for the decisions we make.
On the basis of this
relativity, wise people assume that we have no right to judge other people. That
everyone has their own opinion and in the name of human rights, it needs to be
respected.
But how is it implemented? Can we really not judge other people?
Meanwhile, when we meet someone, we have made assessments, and perhaps,
prejudgment. So, no judgment theory is actually just empty talk. We may not
provocatively judge someone, but we will start to decide whether we can be close to them or avoiding them.
How complicated
this discussion is for my simple brain.
In fact, I just want to say, how
uncomfortable it is to hang out with someone who doesn't have the same views,
opinions or lifestyle. Just like me enjoying eating rendang, suddenly I bit a
galangal. or when I was having fun enjoying the beautiful natural scenery at a
tourist spot, then suddenly I was invited to go shopping. hehehe... Well, I'm
not a shopper, so that's the example. 😁 Hopefully it's understandable.
Recently
I watched a video of a Facebook celebrity, on his page called "Nas Daily". He
also raised the same theme. That every group that is close to each other, must
experience a fusion of characteristics, attitudes and habits, which gives rise
to similarities between them.
For example, Nas, who is not a vegetarian, has
been hanging out with friends who are vegetarian for some time, so he is now a
vegetarian. His female friend, who is usually impulsive and easy going, received
influence or transfer of traits from Nas so that now she is calmer and more
focused in planning.
So it's clear, friends can influence each other, and couples can even becomes more similar in appearance or behaviour.
Interesting, huh?
Now try to check on your groups, and what
similarities make your relationship still survive after all this time.
Or maybe there is
nothing in common at all, just a feeling of affection that makes you unable to leave or separate yourself.
Because after all, love conquers everything...
